Celebrating Our Students' Growth and Achievement
As we commenced Term 4, our team of teachers and education assistants took some time to carefully analyse the data from the 2024 year. This review allowed us to identify trends, celebrate areas of success, and focus on areas where we can continue to improve. One of the most rewarding parts of our role at ECC is witnessing the growth and progress of our students throughout the year.
Our NAPLAN results this year were particularly noteworthy. Our Year 3 students performed well, especially in writing, a result that reflects their hard work and the dedication of our staff. While we are proud of this achievement, we recognise the need to continue building on reading and comprehension skills, and we will invest extra effort in these areas in the coming terms.
One of the standout trends at ECC has been the exceptional performance of our Year 9 students. Year after year, we consistently achieve results that surpass those of similar schools, as well as state and national averages. For students who have been with us since Year 3, we are able to track their progress and growth over time. This long-term data allows us to see the tremendous strides they make as they move through the school, supported by strong teaching and a nurturing environment.
Additionally, we have seen remarkable progress from students who join us later, particularly those who enrol in Year 7. By the time they sit their Year 9 NAPLAN exams, many of these students have shown impressive growth, a testament to both their dedication and the quality of our teaching staff. As a result, very few of our students are required to sit the OLNA in Year 10, placing them in a strong position to succeed as they continue their educational journey.
At ECC, we are committed to fostering an environment where every student can excel and grow. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to see our students thrive.
